Being a painter is what Lorenzo Aguayo always wanted. It’s how he envisioned himself as a child and is something he has carried with him all his years. While he has chafed at the word artist, he simply describes himself as a creative person. The artist label was something other people gave themselves with little actual consideration of their efforts. The word stuck in his throat. He wanted to earn it.
